Since we didn’t meet up last Sunday, we absolutely must have a social gathering of the hams this coming Sunday. The chosen venue is Hayner’s Ice Cream and Country Store, located in Clifton Park (well, probably Halfmoon). Everything starts at 1:00pm.
Two things to know about Hayner’s. First, there will be a vegetable truck in the parking lot with things for sale, including some of the best corn to be found anywhere in the area. Second, although Hayner’s ice cream is excellent, there isn’t much more in the way of other food items, so if food is a necessity, plan accordingly.
For those of you who rely on a GPS to find your way, Hayner’s is located at 148 NY-236, Clifton Park, NY 12065. For the rest of us, you can get there via either NY 9 or I-87. From NY 9, traveling north, right after passing Fred the Butcher’s establishment, bear off onto NY 236 on the right. From I-87, take Exit 8A, Grooms Road to the east. Eventually, Grooms Road crosses NY 9 very near where NY 236 continues north on the left. Either way, once on NY 236 after about 2 miles there will appear Hayner’s Ice Cream and Country Store on the left.
All the hams will be there, so you should, too. I might even have a pair of Meshtastic nodes for anyone who cares.
