I have made arrangements with the East Greenbush Amateur Radio Association to hold a hands-on training class for using the online Exam Tools for VE sessions. The scheduled time and place is 11:00am, Saturday May 10, 2025, at the Search and Rescue facility, 19 Neptune Rd, Rensselaer.
If you would like to participate, which would be great, please let me know. (My email address is “good on QRZ“, as they say.) Reservations are appreciated for planning purposes, but not required. If you know of other VEs who should participate, please invite them.
The training will likely take about an hour and a half to two hours. It will cover the entire Exam Tools VE session process from scheduling a test session, accepting online registrations, handling walk-ins, conducting both paper-based and computer-based exams, grading paper tests, signing off on the “paperwork”, all the way to building the files to be uploaded to the ARRL.
The session will be interactive as much as possible the attending ARRL VEs. To maximize your participation, please register as a VE with EXAMTOOLS.DEV (not just the production site, EXAM.TOOLS). Your hands-on participation depends on it. Registration may take a couple of days for final approval, so don’t wait until the last minute to sign up.
