Yep, the next festive gathering of the hams will be at Summer’s Best Ice Cream. And where, I hear you all shouting, is Summer’s Best Ice Cream? Well, let me begin by suggesting it may be just a little further away than some of the other places where we have met, but I am told that this place is worth the experience.
I should also point out that we have had a pair of individuals showing up for just about all of this year’s ham social affairs who come all the way from Johnstown. It seems only fair that for at least once in my lifetime we all return the favor. By now, you are correctly guessing that Summer’s Best Ice Cream is located in Johnstown, at 24 Briggs St, Johnstown, NY 12095, to be exact.
Now, I’ve never been there, so I cannot attest to whether it is good, bad, or indifferent, but look at that image: They have a doggy right there in the logo. That right there is enough to convince me the owners must be good people. Also, our Johnstown hams highly recommended this place, so if it is not worth each and every one of the 40 or so miles to get there, it is all on them.
