I am saddened that the noble attempts by N1JLF and others to establish and promote a weekly social net exclusively for women have not panned out into a sustainable Monday night event. The Ladies’ Net provided a private space for women to discuss things of interest (ham radio or not) without the male dominance omnipresent in amateur radio. Unfortunately, the Ladies’ Net never quite reached the “critical mass” required for its long term success.
After one full year of operation, N1JLF has decided to discontinue the Ladies’ Net. I thank N1JLF for her diligence and dedication towards making the Net successful; it is unfortunate circumstances did not play in her favor.
