Ugh! October already. The ice cream places that are still open now will be closing in the next week or so. Luckily, the weather is being extraordinarily nice to us on what will be the last outdoor ham social for the season. And that gathering will be the Country Drive-In in Halfmoon at 1:00pm, per usual.
The Country Drive-In is on Cresent Vischer Ferry Road. It is roughly halfway from US 9 where US 9 crosses the Mohawk and Exit 8 off I-87. You cannot miss the place either way, coming east from Exit 8 or west from US 9. In addition to ice cream, perhaps even a vanilla-sherbet twist, there are those that claim Country Drive-In has the world’s greatest onion rings.
