The United States’ membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, has come into question by the current administration. Were the US to drop out of NATO, it then would be appropriate for the FCC to abandon the so-called “NATO Alphabet” in favor of a suitable replacement. This also would create an opportunity for many much-needed improvements to the benefit of transmissions during marginal signal conditions.
The FCC will soon share in the Federal Register the following proposal for the “Americaln Alphabet.” The comment period will be open for sixty days.
